Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 will take place in Piazza della Signoria in Florence, the XXV edition of the Marzocco Trophy, a flag-waving competition organized by the Bandierai degli Uffizi.
This year, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the group (1973-2018), the Bandierai degli Uffizi has decided not to compete, inviting groups with whom they have established friendly relations in recent years.
The groups that will perform in this edition are:
- Gruppo storico Sbandieratori e Musici città’ di L’Aquila
- Sbandieratori di San Gemini
- Bandierai e Musici di Castel San Barnaba
- Sbandieratori e Musici città’ di Lucca
XXV Trofeo Marzocco Program:
2.30 pm Palagio di Parte Guelfa, departure of the historical procession of the Florentine Republic and the groups participating in the Marzocco Trophy
3.00 pm Piazza della Signoria, arrival of the parade and groups in the race
Exhibition of the opening of the small levers of the Bandierai degli Uffizi
3.40 pm start of performances Small team – jury evaluations
At the end a ballet show by the Madonne Fiorentine
4.20 pm beginning of the performances Great team – jury evaluations
Final exhibition of the Bandierai degli Uffizi
5.30 pm award ceremony and greetings from the authorities
In addition to the Marzocco Trophy, the “Critics Award” named at Filippo Galli and the “Historicity Award” named at Leonardo Artusi, will also be awarded.
